I'll be an instructor at the First Annual Hank Williams Songwriting Workshop from November 7-10, 2013 at the Hank Williams Museum in Montgomery, AL, featuring some fine songwriters, including Country Music Hall of Famer Bill Anderson ! We're still working out the details, but if you'd like to reserve yourself a spot, send me an email at artyhill@comcast.net.....Legendary country singer Mel Price and me were just awarded a Traditional Arts Apprenticeship grant from the Maryland State Arts Council. We'll be writing some songs together, and I'll be learning a ton about the history of country music from Mr. Price, a native of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where I was born and raised.....Playing some gigs in April, while I'm putting the finishing touches on our bluegrass/acoustic album, "Life to Think About it." Come see us at the Cat's Eye in Baltimore; my Johnny Mercer tribute at the Carlyle Club in Alexandria, VA; and a Writers-in-the-Round gig at JV's in Falls Church, VA !.....and finally, gonna start recording the second of our 2 upcoming albums, "Last Room at the Honky Tonk Hotel," in May with the Long Gone Daddys.
